Sniper rifle facts? Also need suggested BB gun websites? Gun experts recommended.?
I have a few questions about sniper rifles. I just got into them so I’d love to know a lot about them.
Why does a sniper rifle have a really long barrel compared to a handgun that has a super small barrel?
On the stock or butt of the rifle, why do most have a giant hole in the middle of it?
Are there sniper rifles that can be silent? In other words, are there silencers for sniper rifles?
Now because I just got into them, I would love to get a BB gun version. I am most interested in the L96 AWP (Arctic Warfare Police) or L96 AW SM (Arctic Warfare Super Magnum). Though I think the only BB gun type is the L96 AWP. Anyway, I don’t know what website to get it from. I’ve looked at SpeedyToys, AirSplat, and Airsoft GI. I find that Airsoft GI has it for the cheapest, but I need more reviews to know what website is trusty or reliable. Or if you can suggest any websites, that’s cool too. Thanks!
A longer barrel increases velocity which is important if you want accuracy at long range.
If you are talking about a hole that goes through the stock front to back, it is to gain access to the bolt that holds the action to the stock. If it is the hole in back of the hand grip, then it is to form the thumbhole stock.
No firearm can be silenced with any portable silencer. While a silencer can reduce noise by 20-30 decibels (100 to 1000 times), the firearm will still be at least 115 decibels loud or more. Several manufacturers in the USA make silencers for high pwered rifles. They are very effective at reducing noise but do nothing for action noise or bullet flight noise. They are still every effective at reducing the noise level though.
The word silencer is a legal term in the USA and they are legal for unlicensed civilians to own in 37 states.
I know nothing about airsoft guns.
