How To Make An Airsoft Minigun
You know what, This has been bugging me, Why is it called that?
The MiniGun! Its a ****ing Beast yet it sports the name “Mini”. Can anyone fluent in Weaponostics give me a lowdown on my favorite weapon. Also as a sidebar question…. Is i possible to own one. Not a working condition one, i wouldnt use it for im not a Homicidal Maniac, but more like its in the Corner of my House and i can say “Hey look at this” Because that would be Boss! If not… How Much is a Painball or Airsoft one, or better yet, do they even make Airsoft and Painball ones?
It is called a mini gun due to its size relative to other similar type weapons. Many other multi-barreled weapons of that type are chambered in larger calibers (.50 BMG, 20mm, 30mm), have longer and bigger barrels, and weigh a ton more.
Also, contrary to popular belief, you as a regular civilian can technically own one (a working one at that). Stay with me on this one…
Ever since the 1986 Hughes Amendment banning the new transfer of machine guns to civilians, the only ones that have been able to be legally owned by civilians were ones made AND registered with the BATFE prior to 19 May 1986.
Many M16′s, AK’s, Tommy Guns, BAR’s, M2′s, etc made it into the registry, including a few mini-guns.
They do not come up for sale often, and the last one I saw was going for $246,000. If you have a clean record as well as the cash to drop, then one can legally be yours as a regular civilian.
And just for the record, even if you are a full time police officer or active duty military, your status as a “civilian” in the eyes of the Federal government is no different than anyone else.
