The Coalition of Aid and Development Agencies in Northern Ireland (CADA), in partnership with the Institute for Global Food Security at Queen’s University Belfast, invite you to attend an event entitled; Exploring the Future of Our Planet. The event will feature a talk from author Gaia Vince as well as panel discussion. The event will take place in the QUB School of Biological Sciences and an option to attend virtually will be facilitated.

 

This event is open to anyone with an interest in climate change, international development, global citizenship, climate justice, climate activism and sustainability. Whether you’re a professional, student, academic or an international development activist and supporter this is a valuable opportunity to hear from one of the leading voices in the field and engage in thought-provoking discussions about the future of our planet. Please note that while the event is open to all, registration is required to secure your spot.

 

The event is being hosted in the School of Biological Sciences Lecture Theatre (LG.012) at 19 Chlorine Gardens and will commence at 09:30 with a morning reception.

 

CADA (Coalition of Aid and Development Agencies) is a network of NGOs with a presence in Northern Ireland, dedicated to promoting sustainable development, social justice, and a fairer society. CADA supports its members, who range from large organisations to locally grown NGOs, by raising awareness of development issues, influencing policy and enhancing the effectiveness of aid and development efforts both locally and globally

Guest Speaker

Gaia Vince is an award-winning science writer, broadcaster, and researcher specialising in human-environment interactions. She has travelled extensively to study the impacts of climate change, globalisation, and population growth. Gaia is the author of acclaimed books and has written for The Guardian, New Scientist, and Science and also presents BBC’s Inside Science. Gaia’s work has earned numerous accolades, and she is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at UCL’s Anthropocene Institute and a founding member of the Climate Migration Council.
