Army Gun Saying
What if you were only allowed to own a gun if you are serving or have served in the army?
The constituion says you have the right to bear arms in an organized militia, So shouldn’t only service men and woman have guns. I guess the exception would be Law Enforcement.
Would this help reduce crime where a gun is used?
“A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed” Ammendment #2. Notice the beginning….A well regulated militia. Last I checked a single person does not count as a well regulated militia. So that would leave only Service Men/Women and Law Enforcement
at the time the constitution was written they concidered every able bodied free male to be in “the militia”… it was not “orginized” as we would call it today as in The National Guard… The intent of the founders is clear…but many try to twist the facts… The right of “The People” to bear arms was to be insured…… personal fire arms are used more in self defence than in crime… I have used mine on more than one occasion and I know many others who have also had to use theirs to defend themselves or others… and none of these ocassions was ever reported to the police or to the media… and I know of many times where there has been a fire arm used in self defence and the media do not report it when though it was known…. I only know personaly of one case wher a shot had to be fired in self defence and it was not reported and the bad guy for sure was not going to report it as he was running too fast and is probably still running…. an other time My neighbor ran off someone trying to brake in to my house in the middle of the night while I was at work… my wife was terrified…. when the guy saw the shotgun he set a record for the high jump and 100 yrd dash…I bought my wife a weapon that day and taught her how to use it… If any one had ever tried to break in again they would have been dead… she became a very good shot…
