Army Gun Qualification
us army weapon qualifications?
here’s the situation i have a negilant discharge at a clearing barrel and i am not qualified and have no weapons card for the 50 cal machine gun and i told my leadership that before they made me gunner and roll outside the wire but a CPL tells me that there is no army regulation saying you need a weapons qualification card for firing a weapon out in sector all you need is an hour of instructions on the weapon pls help
It depends on your unit, some units do require it some do not.
Your team and squad leader are not thinking right, if something goes wrong outside the wire with the .50 call like another A.D or something else then its their ass.
Personally I do not think they should put you on it without proper field training experience.
Also if they try to Article 15 you on A.D then tell the CO you never qualified on the weapon system and had no real training, because everyone can read a book and watch instructions but everything comes from real life experience.
EDIT: best way to avoid a ND is by placing a .50 cal bras under the triggers, this way the trigger cannot be pressed and only take fraction of a second to get the bras out and shoot
