Airsoft, If, But and Can’s?

I’ve gathered quite a mild amount of detail/information from yahoo answers and other various airsoft websites so i’m here to ask (possibly) one final question.
If a parent bought a airsoft rifle (In this case JG BAR 10) but gave it as a gift (to me) would that be illegal?

Firstly TheAnswer: you’re talking crap, the is no such thing as an “airsoft licence” and hopefully never will be, please refrain from commenting on things you know nothing about!
In short, no that wouldn’t be illegal, it’s perfectly fine.
The 18+ age restricting on buying imitation firearms in the UK only applies to buying while under 18 and selling to people under 18. The restriction doesn’t apply to the use or ownership of imitations. Naturally if you were to be given one as a gift, it must truly be a gift and not be a case of you giving the other person money or other goods as a swap.
