3 point sling, cant get it to hang the weapon right?
i bought a 3 point sling the other day, but i just cant figure the damn thing out. the rifle hangs upside down or constantly tries to turn over on me unless i go over top, around and THEN attach the clip to the swivel. but then it’s too short and i cant bring it up to fire. if i loosen it, the rifle hangs down too low and horizontally. it seems dumb to me, to attach the clips to the bottom of the weapon, cause then it would seem natural to hang upside down. someone please just give me some tips, pictures or videos would help, its driving me insane! ive tried with a rifle and 2 different shotguns (NO not toy airsoft guns for 12 year olds)
I do believe this is why the germans went with the cut-thru stock sling and rigid sling loop on the side.
Make sure you have all the different sections of the sling fully adjusted.
Is your rifle meant or setup for a 3 pt sling? Or are the sling loops perhaps not the correct distance apart, down the rifle….?
Are you certain the strap is going AROUND your shoulder, and not simply over it? Between your body, your rifle, and the sling, the proportions just may not work…
If you can’t get this or another 3 point sling to work, I would recommend going with a regular old sling, but tightening it to be completely rigid. I favor it, but it’s a snag hazard. In trees or brush, keep the safety on while moving, and your hand away from the trigger guard.
