how to become an airsoft sniper?
Hi I just started getting into airsoft and my mission is a sniper. I already ordered the “AGM VSR 10″
at airsplat.com for $70. It is a great gun with 435 fps (feet per second). Now back to the question. As I already said, my mission is to become a skilled sniper. I am going to play with some of my friends who have airsoft guns in some woodlands a couple minutes away from us. So what are some things I need and tactics that I could use to become a great sniper.

alright, speaking as a sniper myself, you need to know the five rules I follow.
static postitions get you hit.
carry a sidearm or secondary.
never shut your eye, squint with one eye and look through the scope. practice at that. (real tactic)
Never shoot unless you KNOW you have the shot.
Wind and drop should be calculated before you snipe.
those are the basic rules to keep you alive, now let me explain.
Static positions are when you stay in one spot and snipe and snipe. This way your enemies can find your position fast and flank you. If you have good camoflauge and you are far enough away with a quite enough weapon and enough cover, consider this because you dont have to calculate drop as often.
If you get flanked or cornered, a sniper wont do you any good because most regulations have distances for different FPS’s. this means, for example, if someone is within 10 feet of you you cant use a 400 fps rifle. You would need to use a side arm with less FPS. this is also important incase of lack of ammo or being on the move.
squinting instead of shutting your eye when looking through the scope is an important factor in sniping, and should be taken as such. this way you can see how your bullet path is effected by drop and wind (your scope cant see major drop or travel) and you can see everything around you. that is actually the most important, awareness.
A bullet turns up the dirt next to you and you cant see the shooter. what pops into your mind? “sniper”. what else? “run like hell”. This is one of the major problems with alot of people, the see something so they shoot at it. If you dont have the shot, wait until you do. otherwise you are telling them what direction you are shooting from and whether you are shooting one at a time(marksman) or spraying and praying( infantry)
if you are shooting at distances more than 30 yards, its time to figure out what effect the wind has on your bullets.
major effect: move closer to the anticipated spot of the enemies. (four feet or more)
Moderarte effect; target static enemies. (2 feet or more)
some effect:target slower targets (about one foot)
low effect:target fast enemies with care( less than one foot)
no effect; target what you can.
Drop effect: if you are shooting more than 40 yards, calculate the drop.
the same principles go for wind as for drop.
with these tactics, you can accomplish the task of being a sniper. Good luck.
