Airsoft Magazine Holders
Ready, Aim, Fire – the Bare Essentials of Airsoft War Battles
Everybody has days and moments when you want to shoot somebody in rage. Since cold-blooded murder is still considered a crime, there are now ways to release some aggression at the same time developing (ironically) camaraderie as well as enhancing strategic thinking. One great example is airsoft wars.
First developed in Japan as a response to the demand for replica firearms after gun ownership was banned in the eighties, air soft nowadays is used for recreational purposes and in some instances military training/simulation.
If you want to get into the sport or engage in airsoft wars, here’s what you will need:
? Airsoft (gun) – there are basically three types to choose from: spring loaded, gas powered and electric operated. Spring loaded airsoft guns are considered best for newbies since they are priced lower than the other two choices and are easy to operate. The disadvantage is its need to be cocked prior to each shot (a liability during war games). Gas powered airsoft guns use pressurized gas to fire off pellets and is considered the most proficient of the three. The most accessible and frequently used though are the electric operated guns which uses rechargeable batteries to operate a motor to fire off pellets.
? Protective Gear – includes protective goggles (since a shot to the eye can cause severe injury), gloves, skin and neck guards to protect from scrapes and bruises. The most essential is the goggles.
? Tactical Gear – since airsoft wars simulate, what else? Wars, tactical gear include vests, holsters, camelbacks and magazine holders.
? Clothing – typically patterned after military uniforms they may either be camouflaged, marine disruptive pattern, or army combat uniform.
? Pellets – or bullets are 6mm plastic pellets that can still cause serious eye injury that is why goggles are a must.
? Accessories – such as airsoft ghillie suits which resemble heavy underbrush, laser gun sight and airsoft grenades.
The bare essentials considered before you participate in airsoft wars are airsoft gun and goggles.
After you’ve got the gear, now how to start the game.
1. First you’ll need a large area/field that is marked with safety zones with barriers that break the line of site. Commonly used locations are abandoned warehouses or buildings, even heavily wooded areas.
2. Next assemble the team, no specific number is required (you don’t really count how many men engage in war, right?).
3. Determine the order of battle or the rules of engagement if you must.
4. Specify the number of airsoft wars, how many battles will be waged and what number would determine the overall champion.
5. Set a victory condition, be it last man standing or conquering specific objectives.
6. Information dissemination – let all team members/participants know the rules of engagement and objectives.
7. Goal – be it just bragging rights, a trophy or a keg of beer, announce the prize before the start of the airsoft war.
Now that you have the gear, you have the team, and you have the game.ready, aim, fire!
