Airsoft P-90 or Mp5?
I am an airsoft beginner.I’ve been buying walmart guns so far and cheap springers online. I wanna step up my game with an AEG or LPEG. Now there are four guns:Well P90 Red Dot Airsoft Electric Gun , and 3 mp5s ; JLS MP5 A5 Electric Machine Gun LPEG , Well MP5 SD5 Electric Machine Gun , Well Mp5 SD6 Electric Machine Gun LPEG
Well, those are good if you want a gun with a decent FPS. But if you want a higher FPS (350+), those aren’t going to cut it. And remember, JLS and Wells aren’t upgradeable, and are very bad quality brands. These are all decent for beginners, but from my stance (hardcore), I don’t like them. They’re good for backyard use, not skirmishing. All the info is from AirSplat.com.
Well P90:
- Automatic Airsoft AEG (Airsoft Electric Gun) Rifle
- 200 fps (0.12 g BB) (pretty bad, you can get better at Walmart)

Pretty decent for beginner. It has a plastic gear box, and I’ve heard bad thoughts. You can get better at Walmart. But still decent for beginner.
JLS MP5:
- 3:4 Size Automatic Airsoft AEG (Airsoft Electric Gun) Rifle (Good if you have small hands, but if you want realism…Ew…)
- 200 fps (0.12 g BB) (Once again, you can get better at Walmart, good for backyard)
- Adjustable Hop Up (Sweet)
- Battery and Charger Included
- Hi-Cap Mag: 110 Rounds (Not “high” cap, but pretty good)
- Perfect Entry Level AEG for Younger User (You got that right)
- Made in China
Between the P90 and this, get the Well P90. Still decent beginner gun.
Well MP5 SD5:
- Automatic Airsoft AEG (Airsoft Electric Gun) Rifle
- 220 fps (0.12 g BB) (Better, good for backyard)
- Adjustable Hop-Up (always a plus)
- Standard Capacity Magazine (50 Rounds) (Ouch)
- Exact Replica of Tokyo Marui (Yay?)
- Battery and Charger Included
- Perfect Entry Level AEG
- Made in China
Better FPS, but still plastic gear box (reliability concern) and really bad mag capacity. Still decent for beginnner.
Well MP5 SD6: Same as above, except with a adjustable stock. That puts it above the SD5 in my opinion.
Winner: P90. Pretty good for beginner like you. Backyard plinking and wars is the name of the game for this gun. Super highcap mag, slick look, accessories, and RIS (for additional accessories) make it stand out.
What I recommend for skirmishing or for you first “good” gun is any JG or Echo 1. One of the highest quality brands out there.
But, I see you really like Well, so here are some decent Well guns:
