Airsoft Hop Up Nub
M15A4 Airsoft Hop up?
Hi, I recently opened up the hop up on my airsoft gun because it wasnt very effective and was wearing down. When i opened it everything look fine except the bucking was worn a little. So i ordered prometheus bucking and new nub. But for the time being i decided to put my bucking back in while i was waiting for it to come and thats when the problems ocurred. I just couldnt seem to get the bucking to go far enough back into the hop up chamber i made sure the hop up was off also. Then finally it tore. I need to know what went wrong because i dont want to make the same mistake i made on my original bucking. Thanks
Well, pardon the semi-gay references here, but here is some potential problems.
1) Notice on the inside of the bucking there is a little slit. Make sure that lines up with the indention on the end of the barrel.
2) Sometimes they can be a pain to get back into the hopup and it takes a little elbow grease to get it back in the right way. It really helps if you have some silicon spray to spray on the outside to help it into the hop up unit because it is usually a tight fit. If you don’t have any, one thing you can try is to put the bucking half way on and then hold it tight and begin to put the bucking into the unit. That takes off a lot of the tention and gives you some leeway to work with.
Sorry, this is kind of hard to explain, but just make sure to not force it in or you can risk tearing another one. Put slow and even pressure and hopefully you can get it in right.
