What does HK slap compatible mean when talking about airsoft guns?
on the Galaxy Mp5k PDW overview it says this?
The HK slap is a method of charging some real H&K guns (mainly MP5 and G3 series guns) where thee charging handle is locked back before inserting the mag. Once the mag is in, you just slab the handle downwards, which disengages the lock and lets the bolt and charging handle spring forwards.
The problem with doing it with airsoft guns is that if the front end is made of plastic, giving it the HK slap will result in the front of the cocking tube breaking off and the charging handle getting lost. This will prevent you fron changing the hopup adjustment.
Metal bodied guns are stronger and can withstand the force of the spring sending the charging handle forwards without damaging the gun – hence “HK slap compatible.”
