Airsoft Fps Reducer
Will this airsoft gun be impounded?
Right it’s a bolt action l96, which shoots out of the box at 300fps. But take off the velocity reducer inside, and it’s 450fps. The gun must be disasembled to do so. Where I live(in Ireland), the legal limit is 330fps. In customs they have been known to take guns out of box and test them through a chrono.(fps-sensor). Will this be brought to me safely? That gun is illegal in the Republic and yes, it will likely be seized and destroyed.
The gun fires at 450fps, that’s way over the 1J Irish legal limit. The fact that it has a velocity reducer included makes no difference as it can be made to fire above the limit in its stock form.
Best thing to do is have them downgrade the spring – it puts less wear and tear on the gun than running a 450fps which you can’t use to its full extent anyway.
