Airsoft lee enfield uk?
Hey, I’m looking into doin a DIY project on making either a no.4 or an smle, but I don’t know how to get the body kit, and I don’t want to spend loads on getting one custom made. I’ve looked at replica ones, but the vcr law says that I need a reenactor licence or work for a museum etc. Is there anyway I can get the body kit, to put internals into, in the UK?
The VCRA makes it illegal to purchase an RIF. However, it is perfectly legal to purchase the RIF parts separately. What this means is that it’s perfectly legal for you to buy the parts, such as the stock etc., as long as you don’t buy a whole replica gun. One thing I would mention is that if you plan on making a real weapon out of these parts, replica parts are far weaker and will probably break eventually due to recoil. If you plan to build a replica, this is illegal without a defence.
But it should be legal to buy the parts separately – you might want to try one of the airsoft second hand websites such as zeroin, as you can usually find most parts there, and the members are more likely to be prepared to sell just the part you want (making it legal)
